4. Polycystic Kidney Disorder
This inherited disorder can cause numerous problems with the kidneys later on. This particular type of disorder will produce large cysts all over the kidneys and sometimes stretching to the liver. The cysts have fluid in them, which causes the kidneys to become abnormally large. As an inherited disorder, it's not possible to acquire the disorder other than by birth. Only one of the parents needs to have autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disorder for a child to obtain it; it's a 50-50 chance if only one parent has it, but the likelihood skyrockets to 90 percent with both parents affected. In rare cases, a genetic mutation could cause the disorder, but it's not contagious.
